Medical, Health and Social Care Academy moves from strength to strength with an ‘Outstanding’ OFSTED rating

The Medical, Health and Social Care Academy (MHSCA), which commenced in 2015 at St Mary’s College, has seen a record number of students gain access to additional provision, support and training in order to help them explore their career ambitions. During the recent Ofsted inspection where the school was rated ‘Outstanding’, the MHSCA was highlighted as one of the exceptional features offered at the SM6 Sixth Form college including: “The Sixth Form responds to the local context and employment needs by, for example, offering programmes such as the NHS pathway through the Medical, Health and Social Care Academy. All aspects of life in the Sixth Form support students to access future learning and positive destinations.”

It is with the help of all our partners including, Hull University, Hull York Medical School, Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust, Hull City Council, Hull University Teaching Hospitals, City Health Care Partnership and Yorkshire Ambulance service that the Medical, Health and Social Care Academy has moved from strength to strength. St Mary’s College has also been named by The Sunday Times as the: “Comprehensive School of the Year 2024” an accolade based not just on academic outcomes, but also on the wealth of opportunities we offer our students, including the MHSC Academy, which is also underpinned by our amazing pastoral care.
