The Medical, Health and Social Care Academy (MHSCA), which commenced in 2015 at St Mary’s College, has seen a record number of students gain access to additional provision, support and training in order to help them explore their career ambitions. During the recent Ofsted inspection where the school was rated ‘Outstanding’, the MHSCA was highlighted as one of the exceptional features offered at the SM6 Sixth Form college including: “The Sixth Form responds to the local context and employment needs by, for example, offering programmes such as the NHS pathway through the Medical, Health and Social Care Academy. All aspects of life in the Sixth Form support students to access future learning and positive destinations.”
